Game Release: Drifter!

Hello there, folks!

Well, this here is not actually a SMG's game, but I was part of the development team on it and I'd love to share this with you all, guys! I was, actually, majorly just in charge of the map design, though. Those guys did pretty much all the heavy lifting there!

But anyway, I'm glad to share with you Drifter, "a sequel to Stroll and Derpy Buddy". I really hope you guys find it interesting, and I encourage you to go and check it out!

Here's the EQD post, with download links and more information: http://www.equestriadaily.com/2013/08/game-drifter.html

And thanks a lot for your time, folks!

    1. Hello there, friend! Thanks for trying the game out.
We'd really appreciate your help to figure out what's wrong! We'd need you to:

      - Send your bug/performance reports to drifterbugsreport@gmail.com
along with your computer model, CPU family/model and Graphics card with the report so we can identify problematic hardware.

      - Send the files from the folder called Engine Error Logs. If you can, identify which file(s) contain the error, which will be the most recent if you have not run it again.

      Thank you!

    2. I don't know any of that stuff, I just want to play the game but it shuts down without even getting to a menu, it's just a small white screen then that message pops up... although this is the exact error logs if that will help

    4. Hi, we have been trying to get in contact with you to help you solve the problem. You have not responded to us yet.

    5. how have you been trying to contact me, by email, I haven't been able to check my email in 3 weeks, that's why I keep checking on this page...

    6. ah... I see. I guess we will have to do this here then.

Anyway. Your problem is quite an odd one. It looks like somehow the program is being forbidden to read from disk. Do you use any sort of anti-virus? Also, this is something ridiculous to check for, but are you sure you unzipped the entire game folder? I've seen an error similar to this and it was because someone had only partially extracted the files from the zip file.

Also, its possible that your download was corrupted. Did you try re-downloading?

    7. funny, I actually hafta extract every piece of it myself from the folder, I have Windows 8 with builtin WinZip and everytime I say extract all it freezes WinZip then I hafta close it and open it again, also WinZip 8 really hates extracting copies of files, I have Malwarebytes and Microsoft Essentials...it's also doing this to a lot of other brony zipfiles I download like the Lights in the Sky one for Brony Fan Fair and a full version of Legends of Equestria beta online...but Nightfall works fine...I just had to make sure to download it to my downloads folder or it'd be locked...Hope all this helps alittle more...I could also give you a steps recorder of what exactly happens when I try to open Drifter

    8. wait... you have to extract the files one at a time or it freezes up? Well thats... clearly a sign of something very wrong with your system itself. Try downloading 7zip and unzip the files with that, see if it works for you.

  2. Completed the game.

I must say that it was quite... an experience. First, I was curious. Then, I was interested. After exploring a bit, I was excited and can't wait to see what's next.

After some aimless drifting, I got a hang of the controls. I was confused as to what the items do, but managed to figure it out. I still am unsure of what some of the different coloured crystals do (I know one provides charges of Twilight's Anti Hunter Ball of Light).

Eventually I completed the game. The ending was a bit of a surprise and I felt a little warm and fuzzy inside. Weird, but good.

Overall, a very good art game. Got the message across. Keep up the good work, Night Breeze!

I do have a few question:

    1) Are there easter eggs in the game?
    2) Aside from the Mane 6 and the final character, are there any other ponies we can find?
    3) I see the jokey credits! Will there really be a sequel, or was that just tongue-in-cheek?

    1. Thanks pal, although as I stated in the post, I was majorly just in charge of the map design. The other guys did pretty much all the heavy lifting! So I'd recommend to go to the official game post in DeviantArt, and ask directly to them! :)
Also, I'm sure they'll appreciate the support as well.

Thanks a bunch, and I'm glad you enjoyed playing!
